EDIT: I tweaked the color a bit and added some light in the eyes 'cause it was bugging me
I\'ve added a digital lineart and changed a thing or two, \'cause the sketch really had potential and I don\'t think the color job I did previously was good enough I\'ve been really into mythology lately (I\'ve always been interested in mythology though), esp. Greek mythology. I started reading this book (a great book, the stories are told in a simple but funny way) and illustrating the myths for fun. This picture is the first of three illustrations I want to do (and hopefully will do if I don\'t lose interest lol xD) of the myth of the beauty contest on Mt. Olympus. If you don\'t know the myth, here\'s the short summary: Judgement of Paris All the gods and goddesses were invited to Peleus and Thetis\' wedding (Achilles\' parents) except Eris, goddess of discord (for obvious reasons) Offended by that, she threw a golden apple at the feet of three goddesses: Hera, Aphrodite & Athena. The apple had an inscription \"for the fairest one\". Zeus decided that it was up to Paris, the son of the Troyan king Priam, to decide the winner. He picked Aphrodite \'cause she promised to make Helen of Sparta fall in love with him. ------------ sketched on paper, colored in Gimp with a tablet pic (c) Mirta Brkulj 2009 Crits wanted 'cause I wanna try out that new crit system oh and btw I wanna know how many of you have read all this so please say "monkeyfeathers" somewhere in your post, thanks |

"Something had lightened his spirits. What could it be?
A smell? A sound?
Then he knew. Nearby, across the river, a lark had begun to twitter and climb."
