I haven't held a contest in like...forever!

It's a character design contest, and everyone is free to enter. There will be plenty of time and the prizes for the first 3 places will be drawn by me. If less than 6 people enter the contest will be canceled. I mean, there's no point if there are just a few entries, right?

rules & guidelines
-the goal is to create the best lion character
-the design can't be 100% realistic, 'cause stylization is an important part of character design
-create a design in your own style -that means you can't draw Lion King style or Madagascar style or whatever. I want to see your interpretations of the lion
-the design can be cartoony, of course, but still natural. That means it can't be a pink, flying lion-werewolf hybrid. There's a lot of diversity in lions in nature -do some research and you will see
-more entries per person are allowed
-write some info about your character. It doesn't have to be a novel -a few sentences is enough. For example -name, age, location, subspecies, basic personality concept (a few words will suffice)
-extinct lions are not allowed
-lion hybrids are not allowed
-anthro designs are allowed
-the artwork, the design and the personality must be your own
-a nice detailed reference sheet is not a must but it would be nice

deadline
Since I won't have time to draw the prizes when the school starts, I'll draw them for winter holidays. That means you have until December the 21st to submit your entries.

1st place -detailed image, like this one, of up to three characters and background
2nd place -less detailed image, like this one, of one character +background or two characters with no background
1st place -sketchy picture of one character, like this one, + background or just lineart with no background
